The Wheelchair Wheel Lock Extensions provide increased leverage to make locking brakes on manual wheelchair wheels much easier. These brake lever extenders slip onto the existing brake lever of the wheelchair.
Wheelchair Wheel Lock Extensions are made of steel with a grey rubber tip and are sold as a pair. These brake extensions are designed to fit most brands of wheelchairs. The rubber tip allows users to easily push down or pull up on the brakes, and safely cover the end of the steel tubing. By making it easier to lock the wheelchair wheels, the risk of a fall due to unlocked wheelchairs may be reduced. The brake lock extension is made of chrome-plated stainless steel, 5/8 inch round tubing. The flattened end fits over standard brake locks and the slot opening measures slightly under 3/4 inch wide and 1/4 inch long. Wheel Lock Extensions enable wheelchair users with one hand or limited mobility to successfully lock the wheelchair brakes.
Wheelchair Wheel Lock Extensions are available in 6-inch or 9-inch lengths. The 6-inch long model measures 8 inches long overall and adds 6 inches to the brake lever. The 9-inch long model measures 11 inches long overall and adds 9 inches to the brake lever.
