The Safe-t-mate Wheelchair Alarmed Safety Belt offers a restraint-free reminder while alerting attendants of a potential fall. At the moment the belt is separated, an alarm sounds reminding the user to remain seated.

The Safe-t-mate Wheelchair Alarmed Safety Belt personal alarm features a 95 dB horn sound, has a soft silicone jacket for drop protection, a tamper resistant switch, low battery warning, and an adjustable mounting strap with upholstery clip. It is powered by a 9 volt battery, which is included. The Velcro closure belt has a bright red pull strap that facilitates in locating and releasing the belt, and brass grommets for mounting. The hook and loop closure allows users to release with a moderate amount of strength (less than 2 pounds of pull) and does not require the ability to operate a car type seat belt button. The alarm box features and on/off switch. With alarm switched on, at the moment the belt is separated, the alarm sounds to alert the user and caregiver of the immediate fall risk. Once the belt is re-fastened, the alarm will automatically reset.
