The
Ultra Slick Transfer Board
has a unique slick surface that reduces friction, helping to make transfers easier. This wooden transfer board with a composite outer layer requires no waxing and never needs refinishing.
The Ultra Slick Transfer Board is constructed with a durable plastic surface of covering layers of select hardwood. This unique manufacturing process increases the strength of the board. This transfer board is only 7/16 inch thick and very lightweight. The back of the board has a lacquered finish that allows for easy placement of board and reduces movement of the board during transfers. This unique sliding board with technologically advanced composite surface is designed to solve many transfer problems. The Ultra Slick Transfer Board is available in 18, 24, 27 and 30 inch lengths and supports users weighing up to 250 pounds. The Ultra Slick Transfer Board is available with no hand holes, 2 hand holes, and 3 hand holes.
Kathy Dunn, rehabilitation clinical specialist states, "Using [this] board, we have been able to teach high Quads to transfer independently. Prior to using the UltraSlick®, these patients required help to transfer."

Ultra Slick Transfer Board
We purchased this item for my husband, who is an ALS patient and is in a wheelchair. His caregiver uses it to transfer him out of bed and also from the shower bench back to his chair. It has been a tremendous help. We are about to purchase a shorter one to take with us when we fly so we can use it on the airplane. Very sturdy and the slick surface provides very easy movement.

We had a hard plastic transfer board that was very uncomfortable for my wife to use.She has ALS, this board is easier and more comfortable for her and it slides very easily.

No Holes
I had tooling return my boards because I found them sold elsewhere with NO hand holes. The shipping is VERY expensive too.

Q:
My husband has MS and it is not unusual for him to fall. If it happens in a confined space, such as a small bathroom, where I can not get his electric wheel chair to him, it can be very difficult to get him up. Could this be used to slide him to an area where he can raise himself into the chair?

I apologize, but the manufacturer does not have a specific slickness rating, a coefficient of drag rating, that we are aware of to tell you how actually slippery it is. The top coating is a Teflon based coating.
