Q:Is it safe to use portable auto hand controls? What are the risks of using these?
Asked by: Denise Maleska
- 5/31/2016
A: Any vehicle is only as safe as the operator. The Freedom Staff Driving Tools simply allow drivers who are not able to operate standard vehicle pedals with their feet to use their hands. Adequate safety precautions, like increasing following distance, making sure the controls are mounted securely before operating, etc.; should be taken. The risks of using the hand controls while driving are the same as driving any vehicle.
