The ErgoValue Seat Cushion has a proprietary longer U-shaped opening for coccyx relief. Because the typical coccyx cut-out U-shaped cushions have such short arms, there is very little flexibility for users to comfortably sit on the chair. Sitting too posteriorly positions the buttocks to hang off the back end of the cushion causing the tailbone to touch the chair and put pressure on the lumbar spine. Sitting too forward results in too little support for the thighs in front. The design of this cushion allows users to sit with their back supported by the backrest, or sit closer to the front of the seat, with their tailbone, buttocks, and thighs still comfortably supported.
The width of typical U-shaped cushions is 17.5 inches. The ErgoValue Seat Cushion measures 18.6 inches wide, which gives the hips and thighs much better support laterally. The cushion measures 18.6 inches wide, 18.3 inches long, and 3.1 inches high. The white anti-slip bottom prevents the cushion from moving around on the seat. The cushion is available in a Firm or Soft model. Customers who sit for longer periods, more than 3 hours at a time, and/or weigh over 150 pounds, generally prefer the firm cushion. Customers who sit for shorter periods, less than 3 hours at a time, and/or weigh 150 pounds or less generally prefer the soft cushion.
