Questions and Answers
The
BeasyTrans Transfer Board
is the original 40 inch long "S-shaped" sliding transfer board. The longer length will accommodate patients and transfers in areas where space is not an issue. The BeasyTrans provides users with a safe, comfortable and dignified way to transfer from bed to wheelchair, from wheelchair to commode or shower seat, to a car and back again.
With the BeasyTrans Transfer Board, most users can achieve regular access to an automobile. For some, this may mean a greater quality of life. The visiting of friends and relatives may be resumed. Educational and cultural undertakings can be attended. The systems may even allow the user to live at home while receiving outpatient care, rather than living in a long term facility and even for traveling!
It's a well documented fact: lifting leads to injury. For example, patient movement tasks statistically place nursing personnel in the top percentile of the U.S. labor force for back injuries. At the same time, the person being lifted is at risk for arm and brachial plexus type injuries as well as back injuries from being torqued or twisted. The risk of such injuries is tremendously reduced when lifting is eliminated. The frictionless, lateral slide is clearly the state of the art in patient transfer.
The design of the BeasyTrans Transfer Board makes it possible to apply sliding technology to a wide range of transfer and therapeutic functions in both the clinical and homecare environment. Because the seat easily rotates 360 degrees, the systems can be used for range of motion exercises for hands, feet or other body parts.

BeasyTrans 40"Board
Love this board!! I am a independent paraplegic adult. I needed a board that would cut down on the "shearing" of my underside while transferring. This board fit the bill. I did have to relearn positioning and remember to take it slow. I do have to constantly tighten the screw on the bottom of the board, but other than that, it works good for me.

Q:
How will this board work with a Roho cushion? Steve
Asked by:
Steve Thpson
- 11/12/2017
A:
You do not want to use a cushion on the transfer board itself. However, you can still use a cushion in the wheelchair/chair you are transferring to/from so long as the cover of the cushion isn't very slippery (you don't want the board to move mid-transfer).

Q:
I'm pretty immobile and its very hard to get in and out of the car without hurting me or my husband. So I want to know how this works, and how much stress it puts on my body and my caregivers body?
Asked by:
Gloria
- 5/16/2016
A:
Since you are sitting on the board, the only additional strain, besides that normally felt while sitting, if any, would be that required to pull/push yourself across the board. The additional strain however should be minimal given the polymers used to make the board reduce the drag coefficient of sliding.

Q:
How does someone extend the board to a wheelchair outside of the car by themselves?
Asked by:
Sal
- 7/31/2016
A:
You would need to have the wheelchair already positioned. Then, simply insert one end of the board under the user and the other onto the wheelchair. Once the transfer is complete just slide the board out from under you.
