Action Akton Adaptive Flat Pad 1/4 inch
is a pressure relief gel pad made of Akton Polymer. This Adaptive Pad has multi-functional applications for variety of traditional and non-traditional pressure and seating challenges.
The Action Akton Adaptive Flat Pad 1/4 inch can be cut and used for protection from pressure on arm pads, foot plates, head rests, leg rests, and splints or braces. Adaptive gel polymer pads are available in 1/4 inch 1/2 inch and 5/8 inch thicknesses. The Adaptive Flat Pad 1/4 inch is ideal for use a comfort cushion. Akton polymer won't leak, flow, or bottom out, and it is tissue equivalent. It moves with wheelchair users, not against them, to reduce pressure and shear, the two leading causes of pressure sores. The gel polymer is also easy to clean with a standard disinfectant, does not support microbiological growth, and it won't absorb body fluids or odors.
