Action Akton Twister Back Cushion

The Action Akton Twister Back Cushion is a wheelchair backrest support with adjustable straps and Akton Polymer Cube padding. The cushion attaches to the wheelchair with multiple adjustment straps to allow the back to be contoured to the user’s shape and provide total support.

The Twister Back replaces the existing upholstery in a wheelchair. Unlike other adjustable back support cushion, the Akton Polymer Cube inserts immerse boney protuberances to provide soft support and prevent pressure areas. The adjustable tension back support also provides padding to cushion the cane back posts. The polymer padded overlay of this adjustable tension back is often used on both cane back and rigid frame wheelchairs to prevent pressure sores on people with sensitive skin. The Action Twister Back is available in 4 different widths to fit chairs from 15 to 23 inches wide, up to 16 inches high. (Tall model for back 17 to 21 inches high is also available). People with normal to severe vertebral misalignment may find this back replacement cushion helpful for increasing comfort, preventing back pain and soreness.

The Akton Polymer Cube Inserts are made of viscoelastic polymer that will not leak, flow, or bottom out, and it is tissue equivalent. This soft cushioning gel moves with wheelchair users, not against them, to reduce pressure and shear, the two leading causes of pressure sores.
